MAX Client Doesn’t Prompt for Update

The Installation configuration key allows users with Supervisor rights to the System Manager configuration editor to set the update method for MAX and Manager client workstations. To view the Installation configuration items from System Manager, click the System

Configuration icon or select > Activity > System Configuration > double click Installation.

When the MAX server release number is greater than a workstation release number:

If the MAX Auto-update Item = Y, then System Manager starts the MAX client update installation program during user login after displaying an update message. Non-supervisor users may choose to not update and stop the login process. Supervisor users may login.

If the MAX Auto-update Item = N, then the login process does not prompt the user to update the client workstation. In this case, users must update MAX client workstations using System Manager > Help > Batch Information.
