Login Failed for User “sa”

If you’ve installed MAX 5.6.1 and get this message likely the sa password has changed on the SQL Server or the password of the service account that was used to setup MAX initially. In many cases it has been found that the MAX client is failing to update the new password after deleting the .ENC file in the \LIC folder on the server. The only work around at this time is to rerun the Server side install and have MAX recreate the connection string and password hash for the .ENC file. Further investigation is being done – this has been seen mostly on new installs using SQL 2019 and Windows Server 2019.
